Targu Kids
Privacy Policy
Last updated: 27 August 2026 Applies to Targu Kids 2.0 and later
TechAmigos OÜ ("we", "us") built Targu Kids as a simple, offline learning game for children. This policy explains, in plain language, what happens to your data when you use the app. The short version: we don't collect anything.
What changed in version 2.0
Version 2.0 added twelve game modes and introduced optional subscriptions. We are re-issuing this policy so it clearly covers both. Neither change altered how the app handles data:
- The game modes run entirely on your device. They use the same locally stored cards, images, and audio the app has always used. No mode sends anything anywhere.
- Subscriptions are handled by Apple. We added no servers, no accounts, and no analytics to support them. Everything a subscription needs is processed by the App Store and by Apple's on-device purchase framework.
This policy replaces the previous version in full.
Information we collect
None. Targu Kids does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data, device identifiers, location data, or usage statistics. There are no analytics tools, advertising SDKs, or crash-reporting services built into the app.
What is stored on your device
The app saves a small amount of information locally so it can remember your setup between sessions. All of it lives in the app's own private storage area on your device, and none of it is ever transmitted:
- your preferences — interface language, sound settings, which game modes are switched on, and how many cards a round should contain
- best scores and longest streaks, kept per deck and per game mode
- any custom decks you build, including the photos and voice recordings attached to their cards
- any voice recordings you make for the built-in card sets and for correct/wrong answer feedback
This information is not linked to a name, an email address, or an account, because the app has none. Deleting the app removes all of it from your device.
Game modes and progress
Targu Kids 2.0 offers twelve game modes. They differ in how a card is presented and answered — matching a picture, typing or spelling a name, listening to audio, playing at different difficulty levels, and playing with your own custom decks — but they all draw on the same content stored on your device.
Scores and streaks are recorded only to show a personal best inside the app. There are no leaderboards, no profiles, and no way for us or anyone else to see how a child played.
Voice recordings
Targu Kids lets a parent or caregiver record their own voice to create custom audio for picture cards (such as naming animals, vegetables, and birds) and for in-game feedback (such as celebratory audio for correct answers and encouraging prompts for wrong answers). These recordings:
- are saved only on your device, using Apple's standard on-device storage
- are never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere — including to us
- are played back as the matching card audio or randomly selected as interactive feedback within the game
- are removed automatically if you delete the app, and can be re-recorded or cleared at any time from within the app
The microphone is used only while you are actively recording, and only after you grant permission. The app does not listen in the background, and no game mode records or analyses a child's voice.
Photos and camera
Targu Kids lets a parent or caregiver create custom cards using their own photos — either chosen from the photo library or taken directly with the camera. These photos:
- are saved only on your device, using Apple's standard on-device storage
- are never uploaded, synced, or transmitted anywhere — including to us
- are used only to display the custom card within the game, on your own device
- are removed automatically if you delete the app, and can be replaced or removed at any time from within the app
The app only accesses the specific photo you select, or the camera when you choose to take a new one — it does not scan or access your wider photo library. Cropping and resizing happen on the device.
Spoken words
When a card has no recording of your own, the app can read its name aloud using the speech voice built into iOS. This uses Apple's system speech feature on your device. Nothing is recorded, and we receive nothing from it.
Subscriptions and in-app purchases
Targu Kids offers optional paid content. This includes the auto-renewing subscription introduced in version 2.0, along with any one-time purchases made in earlier versions, such as additional card sets. All of it is sold and processed by Apple through the App Store.
- We never see or store your payment details. Card numbers, billing addresses, and Apple Account details are handled by Apple and never reach us.
- The app only learns whether your subscription is active. Apple's on-device purchase framework tells the app which content to unlock. That check happens on your device, between the app and Apple.
- Free trials and introductory offers, where offered, are managed entirely by Apple and follow the App Store's own rules.
- Restoring purchases asks Apple to re-confirm what your Apple Account already owns. No personal data is sent to us in the process.
- Family Sharing, where a purchase or subscription supports it, is administered by Apple.
A subscription renews automatically unless you cancel it at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. You can review, change, or cancel it at any time in your App Store subscription settings — not through us, since we hold no record of your purchase. Apple's own privacy policy covers how they process this information.
Children's privacy
Targu Kids is designed to be used by young children together with a parent or caregiver. Because the app collects no data at all, no personal information is ever gathered from a child — or from anyone else — while using it. There are no ads, no third-party tracking of any kind, and nothing that profiles a child or targets them with content.
Settings, deck management, and purchases sit behind a parental gate, so a child cannot reach them or start a subscription on their own. Any custom photos or recordings a parent or caregiver adds — including material that may feature their child — stay on that device only and are never accessible to us.
We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 (or the equivalent age in your country), for the simple reason that we do not collect personal information from anyone.
Third-party services
Targu Kids does not use any third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking services. It doesn't share data with anyone, for the simple reason that it doesn't collect any in the first place.
The app includes a small number of open-source components for on-screen effects and image cropping. They run entirely on the device and have no network access of their own. The only external party involved in the app at all is Apple, in its role as the App Store and payment provider.
Data security
Since Targu Kids doesn't transmit any data off your device, there's no data-in-transit or server-side storage to secure. Everything, including your recordings, photos, and scores, stays under your device's own security (passcode, Face ID, etc.).
Your rights
TechAmigos OÜ is based in Estonia, in the European Union, and this policy is written with the GDPR in mind. Because we do not collect or process any personal data about app users, there is no data held by us to access, correct, export, or erase, and there is no profiling or automated decision-making.
All the information the app creates is under your own control on your device: you can change or delete recordings, photos, decks, and scores from within the app, and removing the app deletes everything at once. Questions about purchase data held by Apple should be directed to Apple.
If you still believe your privacy rights have been infringed, you may contact us at info@techamigos.ee or lodge a complaint with the Estonian Data Protection Inspectorate (Andmekaitse Inspektsioon).
Changes to this policy
If this policy ever changes — for example, if a future version of the app adds a new feature that does handle data — we'll update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Material changes will also be noted in the App Store release notes.
